In our future work we would like to focus o improvement of 3D sound output which is important especially for visually impaired people (there is no visual feedback for sound source localization). Process called individualization of HRTF is based on measurements of personal HRTF or on a parameterized model of HRTF. Measuring set of HRTF filters for every person that might want to use 3D sound is impossible, so a HRTF model has to be used for this purpose.
We plan to evaluate existing models of HRTF, measure our own sets of HRTF and simulate HRTF on models obtained from tomography scans. As a result we expect to develop an user interface for individualization of HRTF aimed primarily on visually impaired people.
