Blackman Window

The Blackman window is quite similar, too, to Hann and Hamming window, but it has one additional cosine term to further reduce the ripple ratio.

\begin{displaymath}
\textrm{Blackman}(x,\tau)=\left \{ \begin{array}{cl}
0.42+\f...
...\vert x\vert < \tau$}\\
0 & \textrm{else}
\end{array} \right.
\end{displaymath} (10)

Although its frequency response is slightly worse below $\pi$, it approaches zero more smoothly above and turns out to produce quite satisfying results.
